Everything to do with retro games!

Why are boxes so expensive?

April 14th, 2008 by admin

Lately I have been buying empty boxes, mostly for the Nintendo 64 because I have been picking them up for like $0.50 a piece. But when it comes to Nintendo NES, especially on Ebay, the boxes are like $3.00 a piece if bought in bulk. It is crazy to me to think that so many people threw these away back in the day because they were cardboard, and I guess one of the the reasons they are more expensive now is the fact that people did throw these away.

Flea Market 101…

April 4th, 2008 by admin

What price are you willing to pay for classic games? I hate when I see people at the flea market trying to sell a copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 for $30. I just saw it a few days ago, and just started laughing. For myself, unless it is a really rare game, I won’t pay more than $3 for common games, and try to get a bargain by buying in bulk. This is the beauty of the flea market, being able to wheel and deal. For boxed stuff I will pay a little bit more, and systems, won’t pay more than $15-$20 range, depending on the system, and the rarity. If it is a boxed Atari Jaguar, that is one thing. But if it is a Sega Genesis, obviously it will be a bit lower. You have to be careful, especially at the flea market because a lot of the stuff has been sitting in the sun and rain, you can tell by the labels and the plastic fading.

Work sucks!

I am very current on Ebay and Craigslist, and will pick up just about anything that is reasonably priced. Work has been so slow and I have been working 1-2 days a week, which totally bites! I have recently picked up a Pole Position, Operation Wolf, Super Sprint and an Arch Rivals arcade machines. I nearly broke my leg moving the Arch Rivals into the game room, the freaking thing fell backwards and landed on my shin. But the game and my leg are just fine. I haven’t seen too many good deals floating around, but then again I haven’t been to the flea market in like a month, or the thrift stores. Well, just wanted to check in, not much activity going on over here. I just have to add, although this is a retro gaming site, I have to say Bully: Scholarship Edition on the Xbox 360 is freaking sweet to play!

You gotta love this guy…

I find this guy very entertaining to watch review the horrible, horrible things on the Nintendo. The Power Glove was one of them.

Arcade junkie…

March 10th, 2008 by admin

When I first moved out of my parents house, I was unable to bring my video game collection with me, so it stayed at my parents house collecting dust for more than two years. As soon as we got into our first house, I started to buy more and more home console gaming stuff, but I always wanted an arcade machine; I always though it would be sweet to have one.

And that is where it began…

I started buying every machine I could get my hands on. I now have seven machines including Area 51, a four player VS cab, and a three player cab. As time goes on, I will be posting pictures, stories, and such on my arcade collection. I must recommend to any gamer to pick one up, it is so satisfying to have one.

Original News Report on Nintendo… O’Reilly is awsome!

I found this video cruising on the Internet today, it is pretty neat to see all the old Nintendo stuff in the stores, I wish I had kept more of my old memorabilia from back then! I think I had those Mario underwears!

First post… great video!

This is not me, but a great video on one of the ways to repair a blinking Nintendo system.
